Anders Furnes appointed SVP Marine as The Club sets sights on further growth
IN ORDER to meet Norwegian Hull Club’s ambitious marine-portfolio growth plans, as well as reinforcing its well-established service concept, The Club is pleased to announce that Anders Furnes has been appointed Senior Vice President (SVP) Marine.
As SVP, Anders will work with existing clients while strengthening The Club’s portfolio in Europe and Eastern Norway & The Nordics. He takes on this position following the recent departure of Jenny Olsson, who has chosen to pursue a career within banking. Anders joins his fellow Marine SVPs Anne Systad (Americas, Asia Pacific, Norway) and Andy Hannay (London, Middle East) in helping to further expand The Club’s underwriting capability across its premises in Bergen, Oslo and London, in line with its strategy.
Anders joined The Club as an Assistant Underwriter in 2013. As he worked his way up, including being appointed Vice President Underwriting for North and East Europe in 2021, he nurtured solid, highly valued relationships with brokers and clients in Norway, North and East Europe as well as in the London market. A graduate of the highly respected Accelerate leadership programme run by Norway’s largest leadership and organisational development consultancy, AFF, Anders has also been on the board of Norwegian Hull Club since 2020.
Atle Fjeldstad, Chief Underwriting Officer, said: “I am delighted that Anders has accepted this key client-facing role in The Club, in which he will work to ensure a level of service delivery fully in line with our ‘Expect more’ ethos. He is a highly analytical and hardworking professional, with a considered, strategic approach founded upon his formidable knowledge and expertise. I believe our clients – both current and prospective – will truly value Anders’ capabilities in this role.”
Norwegian Hull Club wishes to congratulate Anders on his new role, while also extending best wishes for the future to Jenny.
