Maiju joined The Club in January 2020 as Head of Risk Management, leading the risk management and compliance team.

In October of that year, a Business Operations section was established , responsible for the quality, control, flow and handling of all operational insurance-related transactions and documentation. Maiju was subsequently appointed Head of Business Operations and Risk Management.

Maiju has a Master's in Economics and Business Administration from University of Vaasa in Finland and, prior to joining The Club, worked for 12 years in finance. Her roles during that time included, among others, managing the operations, risk and legal function within a finance company.

She says: "I am passionate about creating and maintaining a strong risk-management framework, which is the foundation of good internal governance, and about focusing on control, compliance and standardization​ in The Club's operations."
