Chris-Petter Haukedal has worked within the maritime industry his whole career.
Since joining The Club in late 2013, he has been part of the team predominately focusing on German and Be-ne-lux marine business, working his way up from assistant underwriter to VP Underwriting. Chris-Petter is also "product responsible" for War risks.
Prior to The Club, Chris-Petter held several management roles at one of the world’s largest international chart agents, including Head of Global Sales. In this position, he was not only responsible for providing shipowners with traditional hard-copy nautical charts and publications but also assisting them with their transition into e-navigation.
A graduate of the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy, Chris-Petter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Nautical Studies. Straight out of the academy he assumed the duty watch officer position as part of the first Naval Task Force ever to take part in a United Nations peacekeeping mission. The UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) Maritime Task Force supported the Lebanese Navy.
Educated to Master Mariner, he achieved the second-highest deck officer certificates after having sailed four years as First Navigation Officer on fast patrol boats and the world's fastest navy vessel, the Skjold-class coastal corvette. During the launch of the latter, Chris-Petter was part of the test crew and involved in getting all six vessels ready for operation.
He says: "We combine experience and insight with a remarkable dedication to The Club's clients and members. Together, that is a formidable combination."
