The establishment of a Norwegian Hull Club (NHC) London branch office is progressing according to the plans. Pending the approval of the required licenses, the aim is to open the office during the 4th quarter of 2016.
The operation is set up to export the values, integrity, underwriting and client servicing philosophy of NHC. NHC’s closeness to the London marine insurance market, as developed over the last decade, will enable NHC to leverage on the existing business foundation to create an enhanced relationship with the London based insurance brokers for the future.
Human capital is of vital importance in the efforts to establish the NHC brand in London. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Ole Wikborg, currently the Director of our Oslo office, will head up the NHC London office. For years, Ole has been well known to the international marine insurance community and has been a highly profiled ambassador of NHC as well as for the Nordic marine insurance market through his extensive involvement and past chair of the Nordic Association of Marine Insures CEFOR and as the President of the International Union of Marine Insurance IUMI.
The London office of NHC will be granted full and autonomous underwriting authority. Consequently, broad experience from the London marine insurance market is vital to ensure that the NHC response will be in accordance with expectations and high standards required. To fill the important role as Underwriter, Mr. Andrew Hannay will join NHC during this summer. Andy has more than 10 years’ experience as a London Market marine insurance underwriter and comes from a similar position at RSA.
Mrs. Anna F. Erlandsen, senior vice president and head of the marine underwriting section at NHC’s Oslo office, will be appointed Director and assume the duty to lead this office going forward. Throughout her marine insurance carrier, Anna has meticulously built her current strong standing within the Norwegian and international marine insurance markets, amongst brokers and clients alike.
