Change of management in Oslo office as The Club continues to grow its portfolio

InsightsSeptember 29, 2022

After filling managerial positions at Norwegian Hull Club for almost a decade, Anna Erlandsen has chosen to step down from her role as Senior Vice President Marine Oslo - and as Head of Oslo Branch - in order to have greater focus on market activities as a Senior Underwriter.

Anna joined The Club as a trainee in 2004. Since then, she has since built a successful career in the Underwriting department, including being Senior Vice President for the Marine Underwriting section in Oslo before being named Head of Oslo Branch in 2016. Anna will continue working for Norwegian Hull Club as a Senior Underwriter in the Marine Oslo underwriting section.

Atle Fjeldstad, Chief Underwriting Officer, said: “I want to thank Anna sincerely for her tireless, determined and dedicated efforts these past 18 years. Anna has always treasured the part of her work where she works closely with our clients and brokers to meet their expectations of Norwegian Hull Club. As such, I am happy that she will continue her work for The Club, strengthening relations and being an important player as we continue to grow our portfolio.”

Jenny Olsson appointed Senior Vice President Marine Oslo

Jenny Olsson will take the helm of the Marine Oslo Underwriting section as the newly appointed Senior Vice President Marine Oslo, effective October 1. She will also continue in her role as Senior Vice President P&I as The Club continues its process of closing its P&I portfolio.

The Marine Oslo section covers The Club’s marine business in Nordics, South and Southeast Europe - an important market for The Club in which we have built strong relationships over time, while building new relations through steady growth in our portfolio.

A lawyer by education, Jenny started her career in the marine industry at Skuld through the Maritime Trainee Program organised by the Norwegian Shipowners Association. After four years with Skuld, Jenny joined Norwegian Hull Club in 2017 and was appointed Senior Vice President P&I last year. As Senior Vice President Marine Oslo, she will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Marine Oslo underwriting section, as well as the development, adjustment and implementation of the business area’s strategy.

Atle added: "We are very happy about presenting Jenny as the new Senior Vice President for The Club’s marine business in Nordics, South and Southeast Europe. Jenny is well-established in the Nordic marine insurance market. Her strong work ethic, curiosity and dedication have secured her good reputation among clients and brokers. We are very proud to introduce her also to all of our important business partners in South- and Southeast Europe.”

Joannis Bloch Danielsen takes the role of Head of Oslo Branch

We are also glad to announce that Joannis Bloch Danielsen will take on the role of Head of Oslo Branch from October 1. This comes in addition to his position as Senior Vice President Marine Claims Oslo, as well as Senior Vice President Claims P&I.

Joannis first joined The Club as a Claims Handler & Adjuster in August 2008 and has built his career in the Claims department in Oslo. He has held managerial roles since he was appointed a Claims Manager in January 2014. He was appointed Senior Vice President Marine Claims Oslo in June 2021 and has filled the position of Senior Vice President P&I Claims since December of that year.

Hans Christian Seim, CEO, said: “Joannis is very well liked and respected as a colleague, a leader and by clients and brokers alike. With him as Head of Oslo Branch, we are certain to maintain continuous good relations with our valued business partners dealing with our Oslo office. He will also play an important role in the continuous work to align our offices even further.”

The Club wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to Anna for her exceptional work and achievements as Senior Vice President Marine Oslo and Head of Oslo Branch, and its best wishes to Jenny and Joannis in their new roles.
