Amendments to The Club’s top management team with new COO role

InsightsJanuary 29, 2024

Ole Jørgen Eikanger, Norwegian Hull Club’s Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) and CEO of its fully owned subsidiary Instech Solutions, will dedicate 100 per cent of his time to the software house from February 1, 2024 as it develops an ambitious new core system.

As a consequence of Ole Jørgen stepping down from his CBDO role with The Club, changes at the executive management level are being made to ensure organisational structure is optimized. Therefore, a new function in Norwegian Hull Club’s Top Management Group has been established with the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The Club is pleased to announce that Maiju Stöckel-Kvamme, currently Head of Risk Management & Business Operations, will take on the role of COO from February 1.

'Highly respected’

Hans Christian Seim, CEO of Norwegian Hull Club, said: “Maiju quickly proved her structural skills and displayed her ‘can-do’ attitude after joining The Club. We cannot help but admire her high energy levels and ability to handle a wide variety of tasks. Maiju is highly respected, has a talent for building strong teams, and is regarded a warm and caring colleague and leader.

"Her skills and personality make her the ideal candidate for the role as Chief Operating Officer and I am sure she will enhance the capabilities of the Top Management Group. Both I and the rest of the team are very happy to have Maiju on board.”

Industry-leading software to be replaced to meet the expectations of tomorrow

Instech Solutions provides the marine and energy insurance system INS+ to The Club and 13 other companies, both underwriters and brokers. During 2024, it will start to develop an entirely new insurance system, Etuity Core, that will replace INS+.

When launched, Etuity Core will be a ‘Software as a Service’ solution, covering all lines of business related to marine and offshore energy insurance for both brokers and underwriters. The primary goal is to take the industry-leading INS+ marine insurance core software system of today and create a replacement to meet the expectations and requirements of tomorrow; a system that can easily exchange data, minimise manual work, while improving data capture for superior data analytics.

'Highly motivational’
Mr Seim said: “To succeed in this particularly important step in Instech Solutions’ ongoing journey – possibly one of the most exciting development projects of its type in Norway – Ole Jørgen’s leadership, time and efforts are crucial. He is not afraid of challenges or changes. Ole Jørgen’s structured approach, when taken with his generous, inclusive and open-minded attitude towards people and challenges, make him a professional and highly motivational leader. He accomplishes, together with his team, what they set their minds to.

"I believe, for both Instech and Norwegian Hull Club - as well as both organisations’ valued clients - that this is a very valuable thing indeed.”

Norwegian Hull Club would like to extend its warmest congratulations and best wishes to both Maiju and Ole Jørgen and their respective teams.
