On Monday 14th November, Norwegian Hull Club made history by opening its first office outside of Norway, situated at 37-39 Lime Street in the heart of London’s insurance market and a stone’s throw from the iconic Lloyd’s building.

To mark the occasion, the Club hosted a seminar held at the Merchant Taylor’s Hall on Threadneedle Street, where over 100 guests from the broking and shipping communities gathered to hear the news from CEO Hans Christian Seim and his team. This was followed by an informal social gathering at the new office, allowing brokers to see where they can easily get hold of our two underwriters Ole Wikborg and Andrew Hannay.

The new office will allow the Club to better service international clients and brokers through London, strengthening relationships and providing direct access to the Club’s wide range of product classes, experience and expertise. Business produced in London has grown significantly over the past ten years and the Club hopes to build on this further.

The Club intends to bring together the best of two insurance worlds. The close relationships that it enjoys with ship owner clients through Claims Lead and loss prevention models, together with the bustling inspiration of the most famous insurance market in the world, enabling products to be further tailored in order to adapt and cater for our ever demanding shipping clientele.

Hans Christian said “London has a strong and historical reputation as world centre for international insurance. Whilst the Club has conducted business in London and the Lloyd’s broker market for many years, our new office will develop our broker and client relationships, optimise our speed and efficiency in London and increase our face-to-face engagement. It also increases our growth potential, in terms or products, business and staff, as we continue to reliably deliver the service, experience and expertise that our brokers and clients know and expect from Norwegian Hull Club. Service and innovation will continue to drive our efforts and future direction”.
